a prototype for the Integrated Urbanism housing stidio,
under prof. Michael Piper,
with Ann-Christin Fischer, Emma Corson & Ankita Lukose
Responding to mature tree canopies, private gardens, flood-prone conditions, and an overburdened combined sewer system, the work considers suburban intensification (much needed in Toronto) as a landscape-led practice.
The proposed building (an individual prototype, one of four) partially liberates the ground plane, integrates a rain-collecting roof & garden system, and creates shared spaces for community life, imagining density that grows with existing neighbourhood ecologies rather than replacing them.
